- I have bricks marked RUSSELL that were made in Russell, Ontario, Canada and shipped on the New York Central Railway to cities in eastern Canada and as far away as New York City. Wondering what buildings they were used on. Bricks were made from Russell shale from 1907 to 2007. Brick making has stopped in eastern Ontario. Does anyone know why?
