I found some bricks in the woods behind my house while metal detecting, they were red with the word freeman on them. I live in Western Pa. I'd like to know how old they are.
If this brick has raised letter with the name recessed into a rectangular depression in the brick, it may be a product of Luther Freeman of Higganum, CT ... and it is a little odd to find a Ct brick in Western Pa. however, there are firebrick marked FREEMAN made by the Freeman Fire Brick Co. of Dillonville , OH or Zalia and New Cumberland. West virginia.. Firebrick frequently find themselves "states' away from where they were made. A photo would be very helpful here. Send to brickcollecting (at) gmail.com Fred
