East Kingston/Ulster Landing NY

Hello! i have lived on john street in east kingston/ulster landing NY for about a year and a half now,and have adored the atv riding so close to home. Scouting the industrial ruins was always exciting but also made me curious as to who, what, and more importantly, when. All i would get out of the neighborhood guys were vague discriptions of a brickyard (obviously thanks), most people provided little information. I thought some one should gather this information and share it with the public. Little did i know this had already taken place. I bet there's so much in the river left to discover!! Probably lots of red colored rocks that used to be bricks no doubt...... thursday of this past week, october 21st marks the opening ceremonie of the road that will return industrial activity to the once forgotten brick making hub of the hudson valley. This work may remove most, if not all traces of this early industrial history. Our beloved power sports playground, will soon be occupyed by luxury homes with glorious views of the Hudson and opposing shore eye candy. Many will come and go years from now never knowing the history that layed below them. Bitter sweet as it may be for some, it potentially stands as a testament, a trophy perhaps, to the workers, their history, hard work and hands on thinking we've always held dear here in the hudson valley
