We noticed right away these bricks are much bigger and stronger then your average brick. I googled Shawmut PA brick but I couldn’t really find much about them other then this forum. I visited this area first as a kid in 1957, came back in 1978 and 1985. My siblings & I did a lot of fun on the walls but were always told to be careful around the stacks bc they were ready to fall at anytime. The stacks have now been taken down. I was there today. Several of the stacks for the kilns are still standing and there are remnants of the kilns themselves. Of Shawmut, PA. He further indicates the firm had a location in St Marys as well.
