Sayre and Fisher: PHOENIX

We found a brick two days after hurricane sandy. According to officials the beach eroded and six feet of sand was gone. We found this brick underneath a rock it is from sayer Fischer company and the name Phoenix is in the middle. Do you know anything about this brick

  1. Phoenix is a brand (or call it a sub-brand) of firebrick made by the Sayre & Fisher Company of Sayreville, New Jersey. They were along the Raritan River, west of the Edison Bridge. Sayre and fisher was a prolific producer. their brick may be found all over the northeast

  2. Found old brick shaped larger, with what could have been a pole hole it has bigelow stamped and numbers....hany answers??
