JMC

According to your website, JMC brick was manufactured after 1965 when Jova purchased the Hutton operation. What I've found is JMC brick that appears to be hand produced or could be factory rejects. My question is, were there any JMC bricks produced prior to 1965?
Thanks for any comments - Ed, Lake George, NY

  1. Hi Ed, I don't know when (date wise) ROSE was succeeded by JOVA , or when JOVA was succeeded by JMC ... or even if there were JMC s mfgd prior to 1965. To (hopefully) answer your question, it is more likely, in my opinion, that the JMCs you are referring too, may, indeed, be culls ... perhaps specially selected "seconds".
I don't think the Hudson Valley "mud brick" manufacturing technology (brick burning) changed to the degree that there would be substantially more or less defective JMCs than JOVA (or Hutton) defectives.
