Valentine was a large producer of firebrick, located in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
We suspect that the number you quote refers to a specific size and shape "brick". Several other firebrick manufacturers have molded in numbers to indicate the specification (part number) of the brick or "shape" to help identify the piece and aid in sorting or selection of the proper piece. either for inventory or assembly.
